Description

Wire rope drums are essential for heavy lifting.

Different from the cast iron reel, a steel plate drum is rolled and welded from a single piece of Q345B steel plate.

Made from tough rolled steel plates, they’re built to handle the demands of heavy-duty cranes.

Typically, these drums have wall thicknesses over 20mm and come in diameters from 300mm to 2000mm, making them perfect for heavy-duty environments. They’re strong, wear-resistant, and impact-resistant—exactly what you need for challenging crane operations.

In heavy lifting, the drum and rope experience constant wear from winding and unwinding. Low-quality drums wear out faster, causing costly downtime and frequent replacements. To solve this, we recommend our high-performance welded steel plate drums.

Spray Coating Process

We apply a high-quality spray coating with an epoxy primer and polyurethane topcoat—one layer of primer and two layers of topcoat. The standard thickness is 80-120 microns, but we can adjust both thickness and color to meet your specific needs.

We offer sizes up to 2000mm in diameter, with thicker plates for larger drums. For example, a 500mm drum will use steel with a minimum thickness of 35mm for added strength.
